About John DuPriest

John retired from the United States Air Force in 1972 after 20 years as an officer-pilot, a veteran of Korea & Vietnam with 397 combat flying hours. He began a real estate career three days later with Steele Realty & Investment Company in Sacramento/Elk Grove. Early success resulted in his promotion to Sales Manager and later General Manager growing the company from six to 30 agents in four years.

John’s specialties at Steele were single family homes, country homes and acreage. He qualified for a General Contractor’s license and built 14 “spec” homes on acreage parcels. He has been the owner-developer or consultant for clients on six subdivisions and 18-20 minor land divisions in Sacramento & Placer Counties. John has owned 15 homes and numerous parcels of bare land, plus three apartments and one commercial building in Sacramento County plus two homes and several parcels of land in Placer county. He has lived on the same parcel of land in Penryn since September 1971 and has been full time in real estate since 1972. This 36 years of real estate experience, including 1031 tax-deferred exchanges personally and on behalf of clients, is available to you regardless of whether you are buying or selling. From 1990 to 1996 John specialized in the resident purchase of mobile home parks allowing park tenants to buy their park to control costs and rents. He also represented the residents of ten parks in five California cities in the purchases by the cities of those parks to preserve affordable housing, literally saving many tenants from losing their homes due to ever-increasing rents. In 1996 John returned to his first love; single family homes, country homes on acreage and bare land sales and acquisition of bare land for clients to divide & develop in the counties of Sacramento, Placer & El Dorado.
